Aunt Helen’s Brown Sugar Pie

When Lynn Coble's grandmother passed away, her aunt, Helen Wilkes, welcomed Lynn into her kitchen to learn how to put a hearty meal on the table.

Brown Sugar Pie

Aunt Helen’s Brown Sugar Pie

  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • dash salt
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • ½ teaspoon butter flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 1 piecrust, unbaked

Mix all ingredients until creamy. Pour into piecrust. Bake at 300° for 30 minutes or until set.

    I made the brown sugar pie. It was de-lish. However, it took about 20 minutes longer than the 30 minute suggestion. Could it be a misprint?
