If you were in North Carolina when Hurricane Hazel struck in 1954, you probably have a story to tell. Our State senior editor Mike Graff writes in the August 2012 issue, “Hazel killed 95 people in the U.S. It was the hurricane that changed the way the county thinks of hurricanes.”
