Coastal Carolina Piers

Against the wind and churning surf, North Carolina’s ocean piers stand proudly.

Designing Jennette’s Pier was a dream come true for coastal artist and architect Chip Hemingway. He modeled the structure after the original Nags Head cottage and modernized it by adding three wind turbines, it’s own waste-water treatment facility, and a rainwater collection system. –Molly Harrison
