If your ears perk up at every mention of North Carolina in song, don't be ashamed. You're one of us.
North Carolina is a musical place, and Orville Campbell operated one of North Carolina’s most successful record labels in Chapel Hill from 1948 to 1965. In 1953, Colonial Records produced a live recording of a comedy monologue titled “What it Was, Was Football,” by then little-known Andy Griffith. Demand for the recording became so great that Campbell sold the master to Capitol Records. This quiz first appeared in the September 2012 issue of Our State.
