About Rocky Mount
Recently featured on “BBQ Pit Wars,” a new Destination America TV series, the Eastern Carolina BBQ Throw Down in Rocky Mount is a signature annual event in Rocky Mount. It is an official N.C. State BBQ Championship and is a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned competition; featuring professional cooking competition based on KCBS categories (chicken, pork ribs, pork, and beef brisket).
Awards include Grand Champion, Reserved Grand Champion, and People’s Choice Awards. Cash awards, one-of-a-kind trophies, and plaques are awarded up to 10th place in each category. There will be 58 opportunities to win.
There will be plenty of delicious food, beverages, and great entertainment. Musical performances will include the Catalinas, the Holiday Band, and Ken Knox and Company.
