About the North Carolina Strawberry Association

The North Carolina Strawberry Association is a non-profit membership association working to promote strawberry production and marketing in many ways. Our members include growers and other professionals in the strawberry industry, both in North Carolina and nearby states. Besides promoting strawberries – our goal is to have everyone seek out and enjoy local strawberries when they are in season!

Our activities include funding of strawberry research, providing educational and promotional tools to members (like recipe brochures, coloring books, and signs), holding the annual Southeast Strawberry Expo, and publishing a monthly newsletter for our members. Check out our website for an easy-to-use Strawberry Farm Locator of member farms and a large and varied collection of recipes.

I would love to make a strawberry rhubarb pie, but have not been able to find any rhubarb. Any suggestions on where to find rhurbarb fresh or frozen? Also I would like to find rhubarb plants, but haven’t found those either. I would appreciate any suggestions.

This recipe for homemade strawberry ice cream was handed down to me from the former mayor of Ahoskie ( Arthur Lee Wiggins). This recipe is for a six quart ice cream freezer.
    6 eggs
    3 1/2 cups of sugar
    3 qts fresh milk
1 can of Eagle Brand milk
    Vanilla extract to taste
JELL-O pudding mix – vanilla (special ingredient)
    32 oz of fresh strawberries

You will have to adjust the recipe for four quart ice cream freezers. Enjoy!

I attempted to view the peach collection of recipes as suggested within the strawberry recipe submission process. I was informed there is a problem with the file. When it’s available, please let us know. Thanks!

I count the days until my magazine arrives and I make myself look at all the pages first before stopping to read the articles. It’s almost the same excitement as my birthday or Christmas Eve with my family. It is a wonderful way to reminise great childhood memories like Bucannon’s store on the way to Kerr Lake or shopping at Smith’s Red & White. I made a collar sandwich for mom and dad and you would have thought I had taken them to the moon!
