Enjoy vendors and friendly competition at this cook-off event at the Helen P. Gay Rocky Mount Historic Train. Instead of a whole hog, each team in the competition will cook chicken, ribs, pork, and beef brisket to win the grand championship. Those not in the running for the top prize still have chances be awarded in individual categories and the People’s Choice vote. Festivities run from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
