The Freight Train Blues Concert Series — which celebrates and honors the life and legacy of blues legend Elizabeth Cotten, born in 1893 in Carrboro — returns for its ninth year. Enjoy these evening concerts free of charge, held on eight Fridays from May through June at the Carrboro Town Commons. This year’s line-up of musical artists includes Piedmont blues singer and guitarist Gail Ceasar, Pat “Mother Blues” Cohen, North Carolina gospel group Faith & Harmony, and many more.
