This year marks the inaugural celebration of the Fried Apple Pie Festival in Sparta. Fried apple pies are a tradition in the Appalachian region, and these handheld crescent-shaped desserts have been made for generations. In addition to the pies, the festival will feature food trucks, craft vendors, activities for children, music, a fried apple pie contest, and much more.
