For 22 years, this cook-off has added a savory touch to North Carolina’s homegrown blueberry celebration. Local contestants and champion cookers from across the state will prepare their barbecue to be judged by taste and sauce. Afterwards, attendees can enjoy the result, chopped and sold by Pender Athletic Club during the festival. Event proceeds are used to provide academic scholarships to college-bound seniors in surrounding blueberry producing counties.
