Saturday’s schedule includes a fascinating knife forging workshop led by maker Steve Watkins of Ironman Forge, followed by a cooking demo and lunch by acclaimed Charlotte-based chef/owner Clark Barlowe of Heirloom Restaurant.
For Saturday night, Chef Barlowe has crafted a farm-to-fork menu celebrating fresh, seasonal ingredients. Guests can expect a globally-inspired meal infused with his Southern roots.

Chef Clark Barlowe of Charlotte’s Heirloom Restaurant will kick off the series May 12-14. Barlowe’s hyper-local philosophy will be incorporated into every aspect of the weekend with farm-to-table delicacies native to the Sandhills region.
James Beard Award-winning chef Ashley Christensen of Raleigh’s famous Poole’s Diner will bring her reimagined southern comfort food to Pinehurst July 7-9, the second weekend in the series.
Asheville’s Katie Button, the James Beard-nominated chef of Curate, will share her Spanish twist on southern cuisine September 15-17 to round out the series.
The Chef & Maker weekends are the perfect pairing of creative cuisine and Carolina craftsmanship.
