North Carolina is a musical place, and Orville Campbell operated one of North Carolina’s most successful record labels in Chapel Hill from 1948 to 1965. In 1953, Colonial Records produced a live recording of a comedy monologue titled “What it Was, Was Football,” by then little-known Andy Griffith.
