Kick off Tartan Day NC on April 5 with an evening at Hibernian Pub in Raleigh.
April 6 itinerary:
- Wake & District Public Safety Pipes and Drums
- Highland dancing and weaving demonstrations
- Find your tartan
- Discuss family history
- Discover family connections with Dr. Bruce Durie, one of Scotland’s foremost genealogists
(11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m.) - Delight in Scottish literature with Dr. Elliot Engel, historian, humorist, and stand-up scholar:
- 2 p.m. — Robert Burns
- 4 p.m. — Arthur Conan Doyle
- Evening ticketed reception with food, drinks, and a concert featuring Celtic musicians Bill Leslie, WRAL-TV personality; Thistledown Tinkers; and Faol Liath
