Kick off Tartan Day NC on April 5 with an evening at Hibernian Pub in Raleigh.

April 6 itinerary:

  • Wake & District Public Safety Pipes and Drums
  • Highland dancing and weaving demonstrations
  • Find your tartan
  • Discuss family history
  • Discover family connections with Dr. Bruce Durie, one of Scotland’s foremost genealogists
    (11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m.)
  • Delight in Scottish literature with Dr. Elliot Engel, historian, humorist, and stand-up scholar:
  • 2 p.m. — Robert Burns
  • 4 p.m. — Arthur Conan Doyle
  • Evening ticketed reception with food, drinks, and a concert featuring Celtic musicians Bill Leslie, WRAL-TV personality; Thistledown Tinkers; and Faol Liath
