Now in its 137th year, the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, has delighted generations with its lively marching bands, regal equestrian demonstrations, and vibrant floral floats. We’ll see it all from grandstand seats, offering an up-close view of the pageantry and beauty that define this annual tradition. Orange County will be our home for five nights as we explore the Pacific Coast and enjoy day trips to iconic destinations like Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and San Diego.

Welcome to beautiful Southern California. Your tour director will meet you at the Los Angeles airport before transferring to your Orange County hotel for the next five nights. Orange County, or “The OC,” stands out as one of the state’s most popular destinations, featuring manicured beach towns, marinas filled with luxury yachts, and incredible shopping. Tonight, enjoy a wine and beer reception, followed by a welcome dinner with your fellow Our State travelers.

This morning, a short ride south brings you to the beautiful Mission San Juan Capistrano, one of the original missions built by the Spanish in the 18th century. Next, travel up the famous Highway 1 to visit Laguna Beach and Newport Beach, picturesque seaside cities with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. After exploring Newport, take a short ride back to your hotel to get ready for an evening of dining, dancing, casino-style games, and a champagne toast to ring in the new year.

Friday, January 1, 2027
Happy new year! Get up early this morning for breakfast, then it’s off to experience the Tournament of Roses Parade from grandstand seats. Following the parade, enjoy lunch at the famous Lawry’s Restaurant in Beverly Hills. Then embark on a panoramic Hollywood and Beverly Hills tour, featuring Grauman’s Chinese Theatre (now TCL Chinese Theatre), the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Rodeo Drive. Later, return to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 4: Showcase of Floats • Nixon Library
Saturday, January 2, 2027
Head to Floatfest, the showcase of Rose Parade floats, where the floral masterpieces are parked in Pasadena, allowing you to appreciate their craftsmanship and detail from just a few feet away. Later, visit the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum, featuring nearly 70 exhibits, a replica of President Nixon’s Oval Office, the spectacular First Lady’s Garden, the president’s faithfully restored 1910 birthplace, a replica of the White House East Room, and the flower-ringed memorial sites of President and Mrs. Nixon. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Take a San Diego city tour, including the historic Gaslamp District, the bustling Embarcadero, Balboa Park, and historic Old Town San Diego. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner at a popular San Diego restaurant.
