Comfortable & Innovative Staterooms
Once you board, unpack just once. All staterooms are larger than traditional river cruise cabins and offer excellent river views. The Mozart Deck features 12 suites with walk-out balconies. The other 16 staterooms on the Mozart Deck and 35 staterooms on the Strauss Deck feature innovative panoramic drop-down windows. The 16 staterooms on the Haydn Deck have a fixed window. All staterooms are fully equipped with comfortable and modern furnishings, including flat-screen TVs and large private bathrooms with a shower.

An included sightseeing tour this morning presents you with a fantastic opportunity to become acquainted with Hungary’s beautiful capital. Enjoy a photo stop at Gellert Hill and see historic Buda Castle, 500-year-old Matthias Church, St. Stephen’s Basilica, the distinctive Fisherman’s Bastion, and the marvelous Royal Palace. In the evening, enjoy a folklore show onboard as the ship departs Budapest.

After a morning of cruising, dock in Bratislava and enjoy a walking tour through the city, where you’ll see the home of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, the old city walls, the summer residence of the archbishop, and the current residence of the president of Slovakia. Journey through the restored Old Town from Michael’s Gate and admire other impressive sights like the Primatial Palace and St. Martin’s Cathedral, former coronation cathedral for Hungarian kings.

For more than 600 years, Vienna was the seat of the mighty Habsburg emperors. This heritage has left the magnificent baroque capital city with many dazzling palaces and monuments, including the Hofburg Palace, the Vienna Opera House, and the MuseumsQuartier, all situated along the elegant Ringstrasse boulevard. The capital is also known as the “City of Music” for having once been the home of composers like Beethoven, Schubert, Mozart, and Strauss. An optional excursion to Schoenbrunn Palace — the luxurious summer home of Habsburg rulers — is offered in the afternoon.

As we cruise through the rolling hills of Austria’s Wachau Valley, enjoy the morning at your leisure or join an optional walking tour and wine tasting in Dürnstein. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Melk Abbey, one of Europe’s most renowned monastic sites, built between 1702 and 1736. This Benedictine abbey is the biggest monastery complex of the Austrian baroque period. A guided tour takes you through the abbot’s chambers, the marble hall, the balconies, and the impressive library.

After leisure time and lunch on your own, enjoy a brief stop in the picturesque village of Mondsee, another filming location for The Sound of Music, before rejoining the ship in Passau.

The afternoon is free for exploration before a Bavarian evening and farewell dinner onboard.
