Broccoli Salad

  • 1 bunch broccoli
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 purple (or white) onion
  • 8 slices bacon


  • ½ cup salad dressing (Miracle Whip® or mayonnaise)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

In skillet fry bacon slices crisp and set aside to drain. Wash and cut broccoli buds and stems less than 1/2 inch in diameter. Add onion, cheese and crumbled bacon. Mix salad dressing, sugar and red wine vinegar. Pour over broccoli mixture and marinate for several hours or overnight in refrigerator.
