Meet Sammy Boyd, the owner of Southern Salt Seafood Company in Morehead City. Born and raised in Carteret County, Boyd grew up harvesting wild oysters and clams with his mother and siblings, an experience that developed his palate for fresh oysters plucked straight from the silty shore. He continues to seek out the freshest possible oysters and even grows his own to serve at his restaurant.
